DAY 1 – Honolulu to Waikiki

Well Aloha. Who’s ready for 9 days of nothin’ but good times and happy vibes? Fasten your seat belts, the ride is about to begin…

You see those people over there? They’re about to become your new BFF’s. With awkward hellos soon making way for excited chats about your upcoming adventure, we’ll head out as a crew for a sightseeing tour of Waikiki, taking in sights including the Punchbowl Cemetery and the USS Arizona, located in Pearl Harbour. Your Trip Manager will fill in the history gaps for you, giving the full story of how 1177 sailors and Marines tragically lost their lives here during WWII. Later on, and we’re not done with you yet, we’re off to see the King Kamehameha statue – the only monarch celebrated in the USA and the founder of the Kingdom of Hawaii. History goals achieved for today, we’ll grab dinner as a group tonight, toasting to the first day of our journey.

DAY 2 – Waikiki

Today’s all about living that sweet Hawaiian beach life as we make our way to Oahu’s North Shore. Surfing fans, we know you’ll be frothing at the sights you’re about to see; waves of epic proportions (if you’re lucky), surfers galore, and maybe even a surfing dog or two. But then, would you expect any less from the home of the Triple Crown of Surfing Championships? Grab a board and join the pros if you’re feeling brave (don’t stress, there are plenty of bay’s suitable for beginners), or just kick back and watch the surfer boys and girls do their thing.

DAY 3 – Waikiki

Waikiki, what more can you offer us? With a full free day to explore, you’ll soon find out. Maybe you’re hungering for some Vitamin D and want nothing more than a towel and some hot rays, or of you’re feeling adventurous, how about a surf lesson? This is after all the beach where surfing began. Dollars burning a hole in your pocket? A stroll through International Market Place and its cute shops could be the answer, or maybe take a hike to the top of Diamond Head Crater. A busy day we know, but the night is young and our dancing shoes are ready to go…

DAY 4 – Waikiki to Kona via Hilo

Honolulu you’ve been a dream, but the Big Island of Hawaii is calling us and we’ve got a plane to catch…

Home of the Goddess of Fire, Pele, the Big Island boasts a tasty mix of vast craters, black beaches and flowing lava. Trust us, it’s every bit as thrilling as it sounds. After joining our coach in Hilo, we’ll set off to Volcanoes National Park to catch a glimpse of the red hot lava flow by the Kilauea Volcano, as well as paying a visit to the Punalu’u black sand beach. Camera memory’s literally maxed out with killer photos, we’ll pull the breaks in Kailua Kona, home for the next two nights.

DAY 5 – Kona

Well good morning Kona! Famous for its Macadamia nuts and delicious coffee, the laid back vibes of this town will instantly win you over, making you wonder why you didn’t come sooner. Today is a free day, but we hope we can tempt you with our Me Time snorkelling adventure – those reefs and fish need to be seen to be believed. Tonight, we’ve got another special Optional up our sleeves in the shape of a sunset cruise. Flating on the water, surrounded by new friends and sipping on beers as the sunsets – perfection, right?

DAY 6 – Kona to Maui

From one island paradise to another, this morning we leave Kona on another included flight with the equally gorgeous Maui in our sights.

Maui

Known as the Valley Isle, Maui is a lush tropical paradise and our home for the next 3 nights. First up we’ll visit the Iao Valley (think green on green on green, with a side order of waterfalls) before making our way into Lahaina Town. Tonight is then something special; you’ll get to experience traditional Hawaiian Hookipa (hospitality to you and I) at a super fun Luau. We hope you got the memo to pack a fun Hawaiian shirt?

DAY 7 – Maui

Rise and shine, because now you’re operating on Maui time and trust us, you don’t want to miss a second. Today is yours to roam as you please; maybe beach nap it out on Kaanapali beach, or take a leisurely trip to the spa. However, if you want to add a touch of YOLO to your adventure, we’ve got just the answer – how about an all day Me Time Optional sailing trip to Lana’i? What does it involve you ask? Swimming, snorkelling, deck hangs and volleyball are all on the menu. Sign you up right now, shall we?

DAY 8 – Maui

Today is our last in Maui, so lets do this thing right. Another free day means yet more opportunities for DIY exploring. If you were sailing with us yesterday perhaps today you’ve got maxin relaxin in mind, but if you’re still keen for more, we’ve got another down right incredible Free Time Add-on to tempt you. Waking up early doors, you could watch the sunrise over the crater of Mt Haleakala Volcano and then journey down the 3055m (10,023ft) volcanoon two wheels (yes, really). Is it a bumpy ride? You’ll have to wait and see… Bums suitably sore, tonight is our last as a Contiki fam, so let’s make sure you go out with a bang.
