5 Days Chimp Trekking and Wildlife

Day 1: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Top of the falls

You will be met by our representative and depart at 08:00am with your guide and drive northwards. We have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Masindi to view the Rhinos before proceeding to the Murchison falls. Upon arrival at the park, you will begin to encounter a variety of birds, monkeys, and baboons in the cool Budongo forest as you are guided along. An opportunity to enjoy the mighty falls views at the top before retiring for overnight at Paraa Lodge or Red Chilie Camp.

Day 2: Game Drive and a Boat cruise to the Bottom of the Falls

We embark on an early morning game drive at 07:00am enables you to see some of the large mammals that include; lion, leopard, elephant, hippopotamus, Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo, hartebeest, oribi, warthog, and Uganda kob. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the Launch at a sun downer to the bottom of the falls, a three hours launch trip enable you to see some animals that come to the banks of the River Nile to drink water, some come to sun bath as the Nile provides a corridor year-round water for these animals as well as a plethora of water birds (including the rare shoebill stork). Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Lodge or Red Chilie Camp.

Day 3: Drive to Fort-Portal via the Albertine Rift Valley (amazing views)

After breakfast, We depart for Fort-Portal via the Albertine Rift Valley, where we enjoying nice views of the Rift Valley escarpments and stop over for lunch in Hoima Town. We later proceed to Fort-Portal arriving late in the afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at Mountains of the Moon or Rwenzori View guest house.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National park and bird watching in Bigodi swamp

After early breakfast at 6.30am, we head to Kibale forest National Park headquarters for a briefing session with the guides before you enter into this beautiful forest for chimpanzee tracking where you also see other primates like the L’hoestes, Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed monkey and grey cheeked Mangabey swinging through the dense forest and several bird species. After lunch, take an opportunity to reach Bigodi wetland for a birding walk in the swamps . The area is run by the community as away to preserve and save animals in the Kibale forest. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon hotel in Fort Portal Town or Primate lodge in Kibale Forest National Park (luxury/medium options)

Day 5: Tour of Toro King’s Palace, Fort Portal and return to Kampala

After your breakfast at 08:00am, If you still have time in the day, a brief visit to the Tooro Kingdoms Palace, built on top of the hill attracting views of the Rwenzori ranges and Fort Portal town, proceed then to Kampala via Mubende with a lunch stop en-route before arriving to Kampala, late afternoon.
